The rooms where another negative starting with the main door to your room has a inch gap of space so good luck getting any sleep when you hear people down the hallway, the bathroom was pretty pitiful and I didn’t even take a shower since there was hair and the caulking was starting to come from the wall and the shower head had missing pieces and the most awful noise when you turn on the shower.Īnyway I give this a 3 star since I made the most out of my husbands birthday with good food and service at the middle bar of the casino. ![]() Food was good with large portions and service was decent. Definitely not a fine dinning experience, when you have people in sweats and a t-shirt. The “fine dinning restaurant” is by the lobby and on the website looks to have been at the top of the casino with a beautiful view of the city. Wasn’t very impressed for a resort casino. Kelly is frequently overlooked in the tourist droves that flood New Mexico. On a scale of "razed rubble with random cans" as a 1 and Brody as a 10, Kelly would sit very comfortably at solid 7. Brody is literally one in a million with entire households still intact. A brief comment note on another reviews mention of the ghost town in Brody, Ca. The cemetary next to the old church is not in good shape but fascinating reminder of these people's lives. ![]() Incredible views of the green valley and the lush greenery pepper the old heavily rutted trail to the highest mine. While most of the town is gone, key pieces of equipment remain., especially if you follow the trail to the top. There's map in there and lot of fascinating history.Īs a place to explore, Kelly was fascinating. Look through the clippings displayed as a book. It'll fill you in on the history and eventual abandonment of Kelly. Start at the converted train depot library/museum in Magdalena. I only wish I could rate it more than 5 stars, because everything about Shattuck Vineyards is fantastic. Another thing we loved about this charming winery in addition to the atmosphere was that it’s also dog-friendly. This family run place really puts their heart into each and every bottle of wine they make. I ended up bringing back five bottles of wine, and they gave us some beautifully decorated wine glasses, which came with our purchase. We ended up staying past closing, because we had the opportunity to meet some amazing people. The nicest people work here! As if the wine and great conversation wasn’t enough, they had a special celebration event going on, and they had free food and karaoke. ![]() Just like the other reviews I read, we were made to feel right at home. Immediately upon arrival, we were greeted by warm smiling faces. I heard such wonderful things about this winery, so I didn’t want to go home without visiting this beautiful place. Me and my husband Jeff live in Alamogordo, but we stay at the lake and the hot springs every year at this time.
